Description of the Slot

With Wolf Power Megaways, Playson has released its fifth Megaways slot. If you have noticed, besides The Fruit Megaways, the remaining four are tweaked versions of the already-released games. While we are not completely sure why Playson keeps reviving its slots using BTG’s Megaways engine, Wolf Power Megaways appears to be a promising release.

Released in 2022, Wolf Power Megaways opens on six reels, each capable of holding 2-6 symbols. Depending on the number of available symbols, paylines range between 64 to 46,656 winning ways. Rollers get to start the game action with wagers of 0.20 – 100 coins per spin. Although the game provider didn’t divulge the slot’s Return to Player, we surmise it to be around 96%. As the game is packed with jackpots and a few special features, it’s interesting to see how the slot pans out with its overall performance.

Design and Audio

If you have already played the original Wolf Power: Hold and Win, then you’ll find very few alterations in this one. The slot’s design is the same as found in its sequel, with minor changes to the grid frame. Once again, we encounter a night sky with the luminous moon throwing blue light all over the forest. As the title suggests, several wild creatures participate in the action but only as symbols.

As far as the slot’s sound score is concerned, it’s identical to the original tune, with very minute and almost unnoticeable variations. And if you are wondering if the animal sounds are latched with the music like the previous version – yes, they are!

The features section is a segment where Wolf Power Megaways showcases its full potential. While the major features are also present in the prequel, Playson has introduced a bonus buy option in the latest version.

Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols in the main game triggers 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins, respectively. If any wild symbol appears during free spins, it expands to cover the entire reel

Bonus Game

Any random combination of 6 or more Bonus and Power symbols activates the bonus game. As the feature begins, triggering symbols are locked in their positions while other symbols are removed from the grid. Only Bonus and Power symbols appear during the bonus game. You get 3 spins at the start of the feature. When a  Power or Bonus symbol hits a reel, the symbol sticks in its position and respins reset to 3.

A special symbol called Booster might occur during the bonus game. Upon landing, the booster symbol adds an additional cell to the reel (6 cells is the maximum reel height) and increases the reel multiplier by +1, starting from x1. When the spins run out, the accumulated value of bonus and power symbols is multiplied by the multiplier and paid.

The value of a bonus symbol ranges between 1x to 10x. On the other hand, power symbols can give you a jackpot prize worth 2,000x the stake for landing six of them.

Buy Bonus

To head straight into the bonus game, players need to shell out 100x of the current bet. Once paid, the requisite number of Power and/or Bonus symbols appear on the reels.

Low pay A to J card royals offers 1x the stake for landing six identical ones. However, the payouts increase to 5x to 20x the stake for landing a winning combination of 6 owls, goats, eagles, or bears. The wolf icon, which is also a wild symbol, offers the highest payout of 50x the stake for landing six matching ones. Moreover, wilds substitute for all paying symbols except scatter, bonus, and power symbols.

Wolf Power Megaways draws inspiration from its sequel, Wolf Power: Hold and Win. The slot has a forest theme where wild animals prowl at night to hunt for food.

Wild Power Megaways is a highly volatile game. Slots with high variance carry greater risks but offer the best chances to rake in large payouts in a short duration.

About the Game Provider

Playson began its journey in 2012, and the slots developing studio is now widely recognized as a leading name in the igaming industry. The company provides many services to its operators and aggregators, including promotional consultancy and 24/7 live support. Although Playson specializes in slots, it has also released a few table games to diversify its portfolio.

Now that crypto casinos are hitting the charts, Playson has partnered with several crypto gambling platforms. Hence, now you can easily play your favorite Playson slots in top Bitcoin casinos.

Final Considerations

Although Wolf Power Megaways is heavily inspired by Wolf Power: Hold and Win, it’s definitely a superior game. The slot outpowers its predecessor in almost all the departments. Not only that, this Megaways rendition performs pretty well, even as a standalone slot. While raking in payouts during the bonus game draws us in, hitting the max jackpot remains a very rare feat. But the game’s pay symbols provide a compensatory alternative, where even main game wins can shell out handsome rewards.
